Student Scholarships

The Charles Nicolay Educational Foundation was set up to support Iowa students continuing their education in the Construction / Architecture / Engineering field. 

Requirements:

  • Must be an Iowa high school student or college student;
  • Must attend an Iowa institution;
  • Attend a program related to construction/architecture/engineering/masonry field; and
  • Complete the entire application and submit with accompanying documents.

For an application to be complete, the form must be filled out and electronically signed and must include a copy of school transcripts, current resume, and two letters of recommendations: one from a community leader and one from a teacher/instructor.

Half the award amount will be issued to the school each semester. If you graduate mid-year you will only receive funds for that semester. MII Foundation awards graduating seniors $500, current community college students $750 and university/grad students $1000.

2017 Scholarship Winners
The Foundation is pleased to announce it had 38 applications and where able to award 10 students with scholarships this year! HS seniors received $500; those attending a community college received $750 and those attending a 4 year community college received $1000.

2017 marks the 12th year we have given scholarships and are pleased to announce we awarded three scholarships this year.
