About the course: Analysis and design of unreinforced and reinforced masonry structures using current code provisions and standard engineering methods. Topics include: material properties and characterization; behavior under masonry load; unreinforced masonry elements; design of beams, lintels, columns and pilasters; out-of-plane and sheer masonry walls; diaphragms; and anchor bolts.
